PARTY-EVENT GUIDELINES CHAIRS: More than anything else, the greatest boost in enhancing your party's success will be the amount of enthusiasm you express in organizing your committee.

Please keep in mind the Commodore and Entertainment-Promotions Committee Chair(s) are ex-officio members of all event committees, and the Club Manager is always available for any support you may need.
Please keep these individuals informed of any scheduled committee meetings and provide the Entertainment/Promotions Committee Chair(s) and Club Manager with copies of any committee correspondence.

Checklists will be provided to assist committee participants in the organization and completion of their event.

ADVERTISING: The Board encourages as much creativity and quality as possible in advertising your party or event to the membership and guests.

The most common forms of advertising are:

. Tattler advertising
. Post cards and e-mails
. Table tents, fliers, posters
. Tuesday and Thursday evening announcements
. Electronic News Letter
. DBC Website

Additional methods suggested are putting on short skits during Tuesday and Thursday announcements, and phoning the membership (please see a copy of the Club's "Phoning Guidelines.")

In order to place your announcement in the Tattler, you must submit your advertisement to the Tattler Editor before the first of each month,and at least 30 days in advance of' the party.

RESERVED SEATING: Sit down dinners such as the Commodore's Ball, or any event which calls for separate tables.

The most efficient and effective way to handle reserved seating is to have members call the Club.

Table reservations are to be made in the name of a member, and that member is responsible for coordinating arrangements for his or her table with the Club Manager.

The Club Manager and his staff will finalize seating arrangements, and have asked that names for all persons in a member's party be identified to eliminate any possible duplication.

If at any time additional reserved seats are needed, the Club Manager should be contacted as soon as possible. This allows the Club Manager to match tables to group size and maximize available space. Finally, cancellations are to be made no later than the day prior to the event; this enables the staff to make final adjustments in seating and food preparation arrangements, and provides openings for any members and/or guests who were not fortunate enough to secure seating arrangements in advance.
Members who have "Standing Thursday Dinner Reservations" must call to cancel. Members who do not call by NOON on Thursday will be billed for their reservation.

However, in the event of a last minute emergency, we ask that you cancel your reservations as soon as convenient the day of the event.

RESERVATIONS: All events other than sit down dinners, or the Super Bowl Party, July 4th, etc. must have a reservation in order to give the Club staff and party committee members an idea of the number of people likely to attend, reservations must be in the hands of the Club Manager by the Wednesday prior to the event; Thursday is too late. This is a responsibility of the chair(s).

Members are responsible for the payment of any nonmember/guest no show(s).

In addition, committee members do not automatically have reservations for their function and must contact the Club Manager on their own behalf.
